FAQ

Band management,
answered.

Everything you might want to know about Band OS, the band management app — what it does, who it’s for, and how to get going. Can’t find it? Ask us directly.

The basics

What is Band OS?

Band OS is an all-in-one band management app. It keeps your songs (with lyrics, chords and vocal parts), setlists, audio library, rehearsal schedule, shows and a public fan page in one place, so your whole band stays on the same page without a pile of separate tools.

What is a band management app, exactly?

It’s software that replaces the scattered mix of group chats, shared drives, note apps and spreadsheets bands usually rely on. Instead of hunting for the latest setlist or chord chart across five apps, everything lives in one organised place that every member can access.

Band OS calls itself “anti-management” — is it still a real management app?

Yes. We do everything a band management tool should — songs, setlists, scheduling, shows, files and a fan page — we just strip out the project-management busywork. You add your music once and the app keeps everyone in sync automatically, so it never feels like admin.

How is Band OS different from a spreadsheet or group chat?

A spreadsheet can list songs, but it can’t play your backing tracks, run a setlist full-screen on stage, send RSVP invites, or publish your shows to fans. Band OS connects all of that in one app that’s purpose-built for how bands rehearse and perform.

Who it’s for

Can I use Band OS for a worship team or church band?

Yes — it’s a great fit. Rotate team members, assign vocal parts, share chord charts and backing tracks, schedule Sunday sets with RSVP, and present lyrics full-screen. Permissions let you decide who can edit what.

Does it work for cover bands and function/wedding bands?

Absolutely. A deep, searchable song library with per-song keys, tempos and notes makes building a new wedding or function set quick. Setlists are reusable and easy to reorder for each event.

Is it suitable for choirs and ensembles?

Yes. Lyrics and parts display in 20+ scripts, with harmony markers and colour-coded voices so everyone reads off the same page, whatever language they sing in.

How many members can be in a band?

As many as you need — pricing is per member, so you simply add a seat for each person. Every member gets their own profile, instrument, colour and role, and you control their permissions individually.

Features

Does Band OS store audio files and backing tracks?

Yes. The audio library lets you upload mixes and backing tracks, or link audio from Google Drive, Dropbox and iCloud. Everything plays in a global, Spotify-style player that keeps going as you navigate the app.

What is the stem mixer?

It’s a synced multitrack player. Upload separate stems (e.g. drums, bass, keys, vocals) and each member can solo, mute and balance individual tracks — perfect for learning your part or rehearsing without the full band.

How do rehearsal scheduling and RSVP work?

Create a session with a date, time and linked setlist, add your members and send. Everyone receives an email with a calendar (.ics) attachment and a one-tap RSVP link (yes / no / maybe) — no login required. Shows can notify the whole band the same way.

What is Present mode?

A full-screen performance view for a song or a whole setlist, with auto-scrolling lyrics, live transpose, a tuning drone and a metronome. You can switch between scroll, panel and attachment layouts to suit the stage.

Can lyrics be shown in other languages?

Yes. Band OS displays lyrics in 20+ scripts — Latin, Arabic, Devanagari, Kanji, Hangul, Tamil and more — and each member can read in the script that feels natural to them.

What can I do with the fan page?

Every band gets a public page at bandosapp.com/yourband with your bio, upcoming shows (pulled from your schedule), social links and an email signup. There’s a downloadable QR code to share at gigs and on merch.

How do permissions work?

Roles — owner, admin, member and viewer — set sensible defaults, and you can override any feature per person. The guitarist doesn’t need to edit the band bio; a viewer doesn’t need to reorder the setlist.

Pricing & getting started

How much does Band OS cost?

There are two per-member plans: Lite at €2.99 per user per month and Pro at €4.99 per user per month. Choose annual billing and you get two months free. Every feature is in both plans — the difference is content storage (3 GB on Lite, 10 GB on Pro).

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every band starts with a 7-day free trial on either plan, and you don’t need a credit card to begin. You only add a card when you’re ready to keep going after the trial.

How does the referral program work?

Refer a friend or introduce another band to Band OS and you get 3 months of free usage when they sign up. There’s no limit — refer as many bands as you like and stack up the free months. Your referral link lives in your band settings once you’re signed in.

Can I switch between Lite and Pro?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade whenever you like — changes apply from your next billing cycle, and all your songs, setlists and data stay exactly where they are.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Band OS runs in any web browser and installs as an app (PWA) on phones, tablets and laptops for one-tap access — there’s nothing to download from an app store.

How do I get started?

Sign up, name your band, add a few songs and invite your members — your 7-day free trial starts right away, with no card needed. Most bands are up and running in a couple of minutes.
